QUETTA: unknown miscreants, riding on motorbike, hurled a grenade on a shop on Nushki’s Masjid road, injuring 15 people on Tuesday morning.

QUETTA: unknown miscreants, riding on motorbike, hurled a grenade on a shop on Nushki’s Masjid road, injuring 15 people on Tuesday morning.

Superintendent Police Nushki Abdul Baqi told media that two men riding on motorbike hurled a hand grenade on the roof of a shop at Nushki’s Majsid road where people had gathered on Independence Day,

“The grenade exploded with a big bang injuring 15 people standing outside and inside of the shop,” Police said adding the attackers managed to escape.

Rescue workers and Police Force rushed the spot and shifted the injured to District Run Hospital for medical treatment. Doctors referred one critically injured to Quetta due to severity of his wounds.

Police later cordoned off the area and hunt for the perpetrators of the attack is underway.

No group has claimed responsibility of the attack till the report was filed.

Minutes earlier of the blast Independence Day rally led by newly elected MPA Babu Rahim Mengal, Commandant Frontier Corps Colonel Azhar Ali Shearz, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Razzaq Baloch and a large number of citizens passed the area.

Following hand grenade attack Deputy Commissioner canceled the Independence Day Musical Night.
