BULAWAYO: Pakistan scripted a 5-0 whitewash against Zimbabwe as opener Imamul Haq and middle-order batsman Babar Azam scored tons in the final ODI game at Queens Sports Club.

Zimbabwe managed to score 233 runs in the 364 run-chase. The hosts lost four wickets. Hasan Ali and Mohammad Nawaz picked two wickets each.

With this series win, Pakistan made a world record of winning most five-match ODI series. This is 7th time Pakistan won a 5-match ODI series 5-0. Most 5-ODIs clean sweeps by any team in history. India is second with six 5-match series clean sweep.

Fakhar Zaman became the fastest batsman to score 1,000 runs in ODI cricket in just his 18 innings, breaking the record of 21 innings first set by the legendary Sir Viv Richards in 1980 and since equaled by Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott, Quinton de Kock and, most recently, Babar Azam.

On Friday, Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq’s opening partnership of 304 helped Pakistan secure a record-breaking 244 runs victory, making it Pakistan’s second-biggest ODI win behind the 255-run win over Ireland in 2015.

Zaman also became Pakistan’s first double centurion in ODI cricket, surpassing 194 by Saeed Anwar against India, scored 21 years ago.
