QUETTA: The Interim Cabinet on Thursday showed satisfaction towards restoration of law and order across the province but vowed that the caretaker government in the province will utilize its keen efforts in holding peaceful and free elections.

QUETTA: The Interim Cabinet on Thursday showed satisfaction towards restoration of law and order across the province but vowed that the caretaker government in the province will utilize its keen efforts in holding peaceful and free elections.

The First Interim Cabinet Session chaired by Caretaker Chief Minister Alla ud Din Marri held on Thursday to discuss elections preparations in Balochistan and burgeoning water shortage in Quetta and Gawadar.

Chief Secretary Balochistan Dr. Akhtar Nazeer informed the cabinet members that 29000 polling staff including Polling Officer and Assistant Polling Officers have completed their trainings while training for 4558 Senior Presiding Officers and 4558 Presiding Officers will be commenced in next few days.

Secretary Home Ghulam Ali Baloch briefed the cabinet members regarding security arrangement for elections and polling staff participating in.

“Caretaker Government has been utilizing all available resources to maintain peace during elections, while security for polling staff will be ensured an all circumstances.” Secretary Home said.

Addressing the cabinet session Caretaker CM Balochistan said, to hold an impartial and peaceful elections in Balochistan is our prime responsibility, to fill this we all have to work together with honesty,

He directed all departments and officials to show their utmost efforts during elections  and provide security to election staff because we have been following zero tolerance policy towards general elections.

Alla ud Din Marri lauded that in this elections fortunately all political parties in Balochistan have been participating with full zeal therefore we are responsible to provide them a conducive environment.

The cabinet approved to install cameras in all polling station and following financial assistance the province will approach to the federal government.

Cabinet members including caretaker CM Balochistan have shown satisfaction towards law and order in Balochistan and said, we can’t compromise on law and order as we pledged peaceful election for the people of Balochistan.

The Cabinet stressed upon increasing number of investigation officers in all police stations and announced that a Forensic Lab in Balochistan is prime need to pursue terrorism cases.

While discussing growing water scarcity in Quetta and Gawadar, the cabinet decided to crackdown against tanker mafia and illicit tube wells,

“There is need of restore closed government tube wells in Quetta and Gawadar and an awareness campaign should be launched regarding water saving.” Cabinet decided.

Caretaker Chief Minister Alla ud Din Marri stressed upon on tree plantation to save Balochistan from further drought, “We have shortage of time and a burden of responsibilities which is for we have to work as team.”
