QUETTA: At least four women died on Friday after 17 members a family drowned in the sea while picnic in the coastal area of Balochistan.

According to officials, 17 members of a family including women and children hailed from Liyari were drowned in the Gadani beach on Friday while swimming in the sea.

“At least for women bodies had been reprieved during rescue operation and one child unconscious was rescued.” Officials said.

Edhi divers on the spot managed to rescue 10 members of the family unhurt from the deep down the water but two children are still missing and hunt for their bodies is underway.

The family hailed from Liyari Karachi came to Gadani beach for Eid family picnic, all family members were swimming inside the sea when the incident occurred.

It pertinent to mention that swimming in the Gadani beach had been restricted by officials following consecutive incident of drowning which took many lives during recent months.

The bodies had been shifted to Karachi while rescue operation for the children bodies still underway.
