QUETTA: Nearly 3300 Police and Frontier Corps Personnel are going to deploy in Quetta’s Mosques and Bazaar to provide security during Chaand Raat activities and sensitive mosques following Eid ul Fitar prayers.
Addressing a joint news conference on Thursday DIG Quetta Abdul Razzaq Cheema and Sector Commander Brigadier Tasavur Sattar have said, 10 mosque and Eid Gah have been declares sensitive following security threats during Eid ul Fitar prayers, which would be provide full security,
“Alamdar Road Eid Gah and Police Line among the most sensitive spots where strict security measure have decided would be adopt while no-parking would be allowed in the jurisdiction of these spots.” DIG Abdul Razzaq Cheema said.
More than 3300 Police and Frontier Corps (FC) Personnel have been deployed across the city following Chaand Rat shopping activities and Eid ul Fitar three days.
Special deployment of Police has been made on busiest points of the city including Millennium Mall, Gold City Mall, MDS Departmental Store, Liaquat Bazaar, Meezan Chowk, Chori Gali, Prince Road and Abdul Sattar Road.
“Forces like Eagle Squad, Mobile Patrolling, Footpath Patrolling, ATF, QRF, BC, RRG and Frontier Corps Personnel have been performing their security responsibilities in the city to provide secure environment to the citizens.”
Sector Commander Brigadier Tasavur Sattar said, more than 2000 FC soldiers are deployed in the city after finalizing Police FC joint Security plan for Eid, “We have also called additional troops from surrounding sectors but we have finalizes security plan with Police to provide security to the people of Quetta.” He added.
DIG Abdul Razaaq Cheema said, Special Branch, Bomb Disposal and Civil Defense teams have been precluded to sweep the sensitive areas with sniper dogs before the Eid ul Fitar prayers.
