Assistant Commissioner (AC) City Sania Safi sealed 28 shops for selling substandard goods and arrested 23 shopkeepers and fined 0.2 million rupees for violating control price list in the month of Holy Ramadan.

QUETTA :Assistant Commissioner (AC) City Sania Safisealed 28 shops for selling substandard goods and arrested 23 shopkeepers and fined 0.2 million rupees for violating control price list in the month of Holy Ramadan.

On the special directives of Deputy Commissioner QuettaCapt (retd) Farrukh Atique, AC City Sania Safi, AC Sadar Babrak Han and Special Magistrate team started crackdown against profiteers at different areas including Kasi Road, Joint Road, Qambrani Road, Abdul Sattar Raod, Mekanigi Road, Kirani Raod, Samungli Road, Jan Muhammad Road, Eastern Bypass and Jinnah Town and other areas of the city, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, three bakeries and one Ice-Cream factory were also sealed afor making substandard sweets, biscuits and ice-cream during the crackdown.

AC Sania Safi said government control price list is being monitored on daily bases for providing relief to masses in the month of the holy Ramadan by local administration.

“Directives were issued to all shopkeepers to follow government price lists”, she added.

She said strict action would be taken against the shopkeepers who would not follow the controlprice lists in the area.
