Pakistan played a significant role in the field of counter terrorism with an idea to make the world a more secure place to live.
Recently Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) killed five suicide bomber stormed Frontier Corps (FC) Madadgar Centre on Thursday night foiling major attacks on security forces.
Five attacker wearing suicide vest attempted to barge inside FC’s Help Centre but timely action by LEAs and Police foiled major attack on Security forces, The attack occurred day after security forces have arrested and killed high value targets in Killi Almas. According to Inter Service Intelligence Public Relations Salman Badini head of LeJ Balochistan among two others killed in the raid.

A least known organization—Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (International) claimed the responsibility of the attack. Some others thought that hostile security agencies from Afghanistan or India might be involved in the terrorist acts in Quetta aiming at to create scare among the people and destabilize the country as a whole.

Security forces claimed the attackers wearing forces uniform are believed to be Afghan citizens.

Pakistan and its people are facing a constant threat to their security and well-being in shape of presence of millions of illegal immigrants from Afghanistan with a particular reference to open border policy at Torkham, Chaman and other border crossings. The Government should be quick decision on the issue of border management and sealed the international border allowing those possessing valid travel documents to enter Pakistan.

Late General Zia should be blamed for disturbing the political order in the country by suddenly patronizing the terrorists for a fight against the Red Army contingents of the defunct Soviet Union that invaded Afghanistan.  General Hameed Gul, another decision maker, who allowed the Afghan militants to mix up with the local population all over Pakistan only to hide their identities. They were not allowed to remain in camps designed for Afghan refugees.

It was the main cause of trouble that promoted terrorism in Pakistan. The Government realized it when the Taliban attacked the security forces and sectarian terrorism started indiscriminate killing of people from other Muslim sects or non- Muslims in general.  Christian churches, Hindu temples, Imam Bargahs were not spared by the sectarian terrorists.

Lashkar-e-Jhangvi to curtail their power and influence to commit more crime against the humanity and the State of Pakistan.  Those seminaries are reportedly used as hostels for the terrorists and hideouts for them. The Government should take tough action against all the terrorist outfits with their headquarters in the country so that durable peace should return to all over Pakistan. There should be no discriminatory action.

The action should be above board sparing no terrorist with no concept of “good terrorist or bad terrorist.” With the amicable settlement of the Kashmir dispute, there will be peace in the whole region and Pakistan will seek cooperation of the world in fighting terrorism in the entire region. Pakistan Government and the armed forces of Pakistan had no other option to fight back the terrorists with the support of the broad masses.

Forces succeeded in defeating the terrorists through counter-terrorism efforts. One of the main reasons is that international community has adopted a hard approach against these terrorist organizations and targeted their centers of gravity. Resultantly, these terrorist organizations have been divided on the basis of identity and power struggle.

Identity has been proved to be a source of strength as well as a source of division for terrorist organizations. The international community in general and Pakistan in particular need to further target the centers of gravity of these terrorist organizations. The focused efforts to weaken identity will not only further dismantle the terrorist networks but also discourage or distract the radicalized youth from joining ranks of these terrorist organizations.

The international community should prevail on Afghanistan to extend its cooperation in final fight against the terrorists in this region. It is in the interests of Afghanistan and the entire world community that the terrorists should have no sanctuaries in this part of the world and all the sanctuaries should be destroyed with the cooperation of regional countries.
