Two Hazara men gunned down in ‘targeted attack’ in Quetta

QUETTA: At least two member of Hazara Community were gunned down and one sustained injuries in western bypass area of Quetta on Sunday afternoon.

QUETTA: At least two member of Hazara Community were gunned down and one sustained injuries in western bypass area of Quetta on Sunday afternoon.

According to Police, three members of the Shitee Hazara Community were on two bikes when gunmen shot them near a shrine at western bypass wounding three and fled after carrying out latest sectarian attack.

Rescue workers rushed the spot and shifted the injured to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital where two of the injured succumbed to their injuries.

“They were riding on bikes at the western bypass area near to Hazara town, their destiny is yet to be known, the attackers opened indiscriminate firing and fled.” Station House Officer Brewary Road said.

The deceased were identified as Muhammad Zaman and Muhammad Ali who was the looking after the Imambargah in Hazara town while the injured Safar Ali was an off duty policeman.

Doctors in the Hospital confirmed that they were shot on face and chest while the injured received a bullet in his neck and being treated.

A heavy contingent of Police and Law Enforcement Agencies rushed the spot and cordoned-off the area while SHO Brewary confirmed that investigation are underway.

Sectarian groups have surged attacks against Shia Hazara community in Quetta from past two months. In April two attacks against the community left two Hazaras killed. Early this month Hazara community had set a sit-inn for five days demanding protection for their community and action against sectarian groups attacking the community.

So far no group claimed responsibility of the attack till the file was reported.
