Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo Inaugurated Sariyab and Joint road expansion project under the umbrella of Quetta Development Project.

The Quetta Development project cost 20 billion for the road expansion and will be completed in two years and would be helpful to resolve burgeoning traffic issues in the provincial capital.

Under the Development project Saryab Road will be expended 13 to 20 meters while Joint and Sabzal Road will be expended to more than 3 meters.

During the inauguration CM Balochistan also accused federal government not paying adequate attention towards development issues in Balochistan. He said even we were not provided funds and started the projects by self- dependency, to ensure the provision of the funds. The implementation on Quetta Development Project is a severe need for the citizens.

The government is concerned about the development of the provincial capital. It is included in the priorities of the incumbent government to beatify and develop under develop areas of Quetta city. The Quetta city development package is evidence in this regard.

By accepting the post from day one Chief Minister, Mr. Bizenjo had to accept to face all challenges in the field of health, education, water supply and above all maintenance of public order in all parts of Balochistan.

On the issue of MPAs, they are elected to frame laws only and not to become economic managers of the junk schemes. Similarly, they should be barred from interfering in the administrative affairs. They are bound to make suggestions on the floor of the House and the Ministers in the Cabinet meetings only. The remaining job is for the Chief Minister who is the real Chief Executive of the Province.

The Government will have to take a final decision that the resources of Balochistan are for the Members of the Assembly or for the broad masses that should be used on development.

On the other hand, there is no perception of economic planning for development as the entire Provincial Government is being run on the pattern of a municipality where gutter and junk schemes are given priority.

At the same time, the Government should build the basic infrastructure of future economic development of the province. The task of development, mainly the spending on economic schemes, should be the responsibility of the Government where more than 80 per cent funds should be used.

If it is for the people and their welfare and prosperity, then all the junk schemes in the PSDP should be discarded and shelved and all the funds should be diverted to developing the backward economy of Balochistan.

But on ground facts despite lack of resources and time, the incumbent provincial government starting development schemes, which will be completed in an estimated period of two to three years, what many have feared will the next government be able to continue development projects started in Quddus Bizenjo’s regime? Because Balchistan has history where new government set-up never continued development schemes commenced by their predecessors.

Citizens of Quetta have taken sigh of relief after two flyovers are finally completed and appeased gruesome traffic in Quetta city. Notwithstanding they took years of completion as many believed a deliberate delay to continue corruption on the name of development projects but completed.

To stem-out corrupt practices on the name of development schemes, the provincial governments have to make sure that all development projects must be completed on its due period of time.
