QUETTA: Member Provincial Assembly Balochistan, SpozhmiAchakzai has said that Islam has provided equal rights to women and they got the same status in society as their brother, father and husband.

She expressed these views while addressing in a seminar over the amendment bill of property rights under the department of Women Development Balochistan here on Saturday.

“Every single person in the society has to play his role in empowering the woman according to Islam, as neglecting them will produce various societal issues” She said and added that awareness campaigns are required on different levels for the rights of women.

Secretary of Department of Woman Development, Mohammad SiddiqMandhokehl has also talked to the participants. He said that Women are almost half of the population as there is requirement of their empowerment politically and economically.

“The concerned bill will help the woman is getting their rights in property, and this will also address some other woman related issues” he told the participants.

Chairman Public Service Commission, Justice Retired Mehta KehlashNathKohli also expressed his views at the Seminar while saying that “Women should get equal in the inherited properties of their parents as the other male members of family as this is their constitutional right”.

Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, RehanaKhilji, Representatives of University of Balochistan (UOB), Local Government, NADRA and media persons were also present.
