QUETTA: The alarming situation of Malaria in Balochistan was revealed by provincial director Malaria Control Program Dr. Kamalan Gichki on Tuesday, up to 7000 children being indulged with Malaria in Balochistan annually.

QUETTA: The alarming situation of Malaria in Balochistan was revealed by provincial director Malaria Control Program Dr. Kamalan Gichki on Tuesday, up to 7000 children being indulged with Malaria in Balochistan annually.

“Up to 1.6 million people in Pakistan being affected by Malaria annually, while many have died as well due to this disease, in Balochistan yet two deaths were reported due to Malaria outbreak.” Director Malaria Program Balochistan Dr. Kamalan Gichki said while addressing a news conference here in Quetta Press Club.

Director Publich Health Dr. Hayat Ranjo, Deputy Director Dr. Khurram, Provincial Coordinator Dr. Sarmad and other health officials were presented in a joint news conference.

Dr Kamalan Gichki said, Malaria has reached on an alarming point in Balochistan as Malaria rate in the province has reached on 07%,  “At least 29 district of Balochistan are affected with Malaria, but the provincial health department is adopting all preventing measure to halt further spread of this diseases.”

He added, there are five types of Parasite Plasmodium causing Malaria among our people specially children born before the completing nine months.

Talking on the International Malaria Day he added, 25 April has been considered as International Malaria Day across the world,  “Many countries in the wold have succeeded to purged Malaria from their country after adopting preventive measure, in Balochistan efforts are underway to halt this diseased and awareness campaign being launched across the province regarding precautions.”
