Police force had been made the prime target of terror attacks from the trained terrorists killing police officials in a row. The terrorists carried out attacks to hit the morale of the force in fight against terrorism. More than 20 officers killed by the terrorists in 4 Month.
Presumably, the main reason could be that the police force is the most effective force reaching their hideouts through investigations using human intelligence. Police is the frontline defence of the people against terrorists and the criminals.
The recent attack on Deputy Superintendent of Police Hameedullah Dasti’s car came under heavy firing by unknown assailants on Sumungli Road in Quetta early morning DSP Dasti remained safe as he was travelling in a double cabin car but his four guards were in the open compartment due to which two fell prey to the terrorist fire. Subsequently, the remaining policemen fired back at the attackers who managed to flee away, Last month, a customs official was killed in a firing incident early in the outskirts of Quetta.
The customs officials were travelling in a car when unknown assailants opened fire at the vehicle near Sheikh Zayed Hospital at Link road resulting in the death of Muhammad Fasim, However the first attack was carried out against the A senior police official DIG Hamid Shakeel Sabir and two of his colleagues were martyred when a suicide bomber struck his convoy.
Thus there is a strong possibility of Afghan involvement, including the Taliban with their base in Kandahar. However, the real facts will be known after the investigations are complete and security agencies pinpoint the real culprits.
The Government and the security forces made serious and untiring efforts to make Quetta city safe and secure from the terrorists. However, the efforts could not bore fruits to this date and the terrorists continue to operate in this seat of the Balochistan Government with relative impunity attacking the targets they chose.
Presumably, the purpose is to demoralize the police force so that the terrorists are not chased. It is not a valid argument that the terrorists are coming from Afghanistan all the time attacking the people and security officials.
Some of the people firmly believed that most of the terrorists are in Pakistani territory and they operate from inside Pakistan. It is the duty of law enforcing agency to chase them and bust all the gangs. They pointed out presence of millions of illegal immigrants from Afghanistan, all willfully allowed to mix up with the local population. The heavy presence of illegal immigrants is in Quetta and its surroundings posing a serious threat to the lives of innocent people and others.
Most of the security officials were found blank and know least about the Afghans in millions making the Capital of Balochistan unsafe and insecure. There is a need to take all the illegal immigrants out from Quetta city and its surroundings if the Government wants to make Quetta safe from terrorists.
There is an old suggestion that the illegal immigrants should be dislodged from all business and population centres and confined to the barbed wire camps far away from the city centres and close to the Afghan border before they are all repatriated.
Pakistani officials were found praising Iran for proper handling the Afghan refugees to such a large number. Iran merely confined all refugees to camps and disallowed them from moving out.
Thus they are barred from carrying out any subversive activity inside Iran as they were confined to barbed wire camps.
If we apply the same policy, then our Provincial Capital and law enforcing agencies will be safer. There is no bar taking any action against the illegal immigrants.
Let us send the illegal immigrants to Afghanistan. It is the only formula for peace in Pakistan; send all the illegal immigrants first and get peace in return. As long as the millions of illegal immigrants are in Pakistan, there will be no peace. Terrorists finding cover under the huge population and they will continue to operate and carry out attacks at will.
