Renowned Educationist Fazal-e-Haq Mir passes away

QUETTA: – Country’s leading educationist and religious scholar, Profession Fazal-e-Haq Mir passed away after prolong illness, here on Friday. He was 78.

QUETTA: – Country’s leading educationist and religious scholar, Profession Fazal-e-Haq Mir passed away after prolong illness, here on Friday. He was 78.

Mr. Haq, who was secretary Tameer-e-Nu- Trust and serving as Principal of Tameer-e-Nu-Public College Quetta.
His funeral prayers were offered at the College ground that was attended thousands of people, including provincial minister Tahir Mehmood, ex-Chief Minister Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali, MPAs
Zamarak Khan Piralizai, Obaidullah Babit, leaders of different political parties and his present and former students. Later, he was laid to rest in Kasi graveyard in the presence of large number of people. Professor Fazal-Haq Mir was born in 22 November 1942 in Jammu and migrated to Quetta along with his parents and other family members after creation of Pakistan. He obtained education from Special
High School up to Matric and later did his graduation from Government College Quetta.

After graduation, he went to Karachi for further education and did his masters in Islamyat from Karachi University.  Retuning back to Quetta after completing his master degree, he decided to establish an educational institution and with the help of Mir Jaffar Khan Jamali and Maulana Abdul Aziz he
established a primary School at Khuda-i-Dad road area in rented piece of land with name of Tameer-i-Nu school in early 60s.

With the passage of time, he continued his efforts along with his friends and different leaders and succeeded to allot a building where the high school was established. Mr. Haq not give up
after establishing high school and started struggle for College and once against his efforts remained fruitful and in late 70s Tameer-i-Nu Public College was established in Quetta.
A university and Girls College was in his plan. Tameer-i-Nu Modal School and College and Girls school and College were established with his long efforts. However, his untimely death did not
allow him to establish University. The work for the university is in progress and would be establish soon.
The educational institutions, he established considered best colleges and schools in the country and thousands students who educated from these institutions were working in various national
institutions including Bureaucracy, Army, Air Force and Judiciary. As religious scholar  his services could not be forget as he always guided his students towards right direction.

Fazal Haq Mir also took in the student politics and was part of struggle against the dictatorship and General Ayub Khan and General Yahya Khan. A military court awarded him sentence and sent him
jail for three months during Yahya’s Martial law. He was offered his release through submitting written apology, but he refused and completed his term in jail. In Ayub’s era, he participated in the
election campaign of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah against Ayub Khan.

The gap created due to his death could not be filling up in years. However, he will be always remembering for his vital role in promotion quality education in Balochistan.  Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister, Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, former Chief Ministers Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi, Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali, Dr. Malik Baloch and Sardar Muhammad Saleh Bhootani and many others expressed grief and sorrow of the death of Mir Fazal Haq.
