QUETTA: All Balochistan Medical Store Association has lifted strike call and opened medical stores in the provincial capital after government assured to address their grievances on Thursday.

QUETTA: All Balochistan Medical Store Association has lifted strike call and opened medical stores in the provincial capital after government assured to address their grievances on Thursday.

Protesting against extortion calls and mistreatment by Health Departments’ Drugs Inspectors All Balochistan Medical Association had announced to shut medical stored across the city on Wednesday eve.

In a meeting with MSA the Provincial Government and Health Department representatives has assured to address their grievances immediately and strict action will be taken against corrupt drug inspectors.

Following Government assurance Medical Store Association has called off the strike and directed all medical store owners to open their business.

“We didn’t want to indulge public in more hardships, but we were compelled to go on strike and shut our medicals as extortion calls and mistreatment by drug inspectors were reached on hipe.” Syed Akber Shah President All Balochistan medical store association said.

He added, following masses plight and government assurance we have called-off our strike today.

People of Quetta have witness grievous difficulties especially those with patients in the Hospital as medical stores remained shut in the city throughout the day.

“Already there are no medicines in hospitals, my brother in casualty and doctors have said me to bring these medicine, what do I do as all medical are shut.” Nazar Muhammad a local resident said.

He added, last week we badly suffered due to Doctors strike and now medical owners went on strike, “The Government should take strict action against those deliberately indulging ordinary masses in difficulties.”
