QUETTA: At least three people including two women were killed in a result of a landmine blast near Rajhay area of District Chaghi near Pak-Iran border on Wednesday.

QUETTA: At least three people including two women were killed in a result of a landmine blast near Rajhay area of District Chaghi near Pak-Iran border on Wednesday.

According to Levis, the vehicle carrying two women and child hit a landmine laid down by unknown persons near Rajhay area of Chaghi District territory near Pak-Iran border.

“As a result of landmine blast two women Bibi Naseema and Bibi Maryam and the vehicle driver Abdul Rehman Reki were killed on the spot while a child sustained severe wounds.”

Levis and Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan’s contingents rushed the spot and shifted the bodies and injured to District Headquarter Hospital for medico legal process and injured said to be in critical but being treated.

“The vehicle illegally crossed the border and was moving towards its destiny when the driver accelerated over a landmine.” Deputy Commissioner Chaghi District Imran Ibrahim said.

Wreckage of the vehicle was seen in a footage emerged after the blast while the vehicle totally destroyed due to the intensity of the explosion.

Pak-Iran border is notorious for illicit movement of specially smugglers carrying drugs. Pak-Iran border forces tightened security measure following terrorists’ activities crossing the border.

Security Forces have lodged the case against unknown persons and commenced investigation.
