QUETTA: The Balochistan government has declared Bostan Industrial Estate as economic zone to provide basic infrastructure to the investors and industrialists under China Pakistan economic Corridor project.

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has declared Bostan Industrial Estate as economic zone to provide basic infrastructure to the investors and industrialists under China Pakistan economic Corridor project.

The decision to give Bostan Industrial Estate the status of economic zone was taken in a high level meeting held here on Monday evening that was presided over by the Chief Minister, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo.

Provincial Home Minister, Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti, senior official concerned, including Chief Secretary Aurangzeb Haq, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, Nasibullah Bazai, Secretary Finance Qamar Masood, Commissioner Quetta Division Amjad Ali Khan, Director General Industry department, Ms. Saira Ata and other concerned officials.

The officials concerned were directed in the meeting that in the proposed economic zone the basic infrastructure and all other required facilities should be extended to the investors and industrialists on emergency basis.

The meeting was informed that the Bostan Industrial Estate was established on 1000 acres of land and very soon basic infrastructure would be completed on 200 acres, which include leveling of land, construction of roads and supplying of water and electricity and these facilities would be provided on remaining 800 acres of land as soon as possible.

It was further decided that work would be completed as soon as possible on other proposed economic zones, which would be would be established under mega CPEC project so Balochistan could take maximum benefits from the development under CPEC, including jobs opportunities.

Chief Minister Bizenjo directed the concerned department to give special attention on the preparation of skilled human resource and assured that provincial government would provide all required resources to the department.

He also said that a comprehensive policy should be evolved for ensuring of establishing the main offices of all companies in Balochistan who will open their offices in the proposed economic zones. He also said that arrangements should be made for sending industrial production of local industries at national and international Market.

Mr. Bizenjo said that Balochistan would take benefit of industrial development when local raw martial would be utilized in the industries and jobs will be available for local people. However, Chief Minister deplored that implementation on the projects under CPEC were delayed in Balochistan.

He said that concerned authorities should work hard for the completion of these development projects as soon as possible.
