QUETTA: At least four Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan personnel martyred after gunmen opened indiscriminate firing on paramilitary soldiers near Dukani Baba area vicinity of Sariyab road on early hours of Wednesday.

QUETTA: At least four Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan personnel martyred after gunmen opened indiscriminate firing on paramilitary soldiers near Dukani Baba area vicinity of Sariyab road on early hours of Wednesday.

Paramilitary Force FC Balochistan’s soldiers on two motorbikes reached a point near Dukani Baba to guard a railway track when unknown armed men opened firing killing four FC soldiers and managed to escape.

Rescue workers flanked with heavy contingent of Law Enforcement Agencies reached the spot and cordoned-off the area minutes after the fresh assault on Paramilitary troops.

“FC soldiers were on patrolling to guard the railway track, when 03 to 04 armed men attacked them, forces have foiled bids to bomb passengers train and recovered IEDs planted in the same area.” IG Police Muzzam Jha Ansari said while visiting the crime scene.

He added, the tragic incident occurred at 7:45am when activities are rare in the area, but investigation teams have collected initial evidence from the spot.

The bodies of martyred FC soldiers had been taken to Civil Hospital Quetta for autopsy. Martyred FC soldiers were identified as Nayak Saeed Ahmed, Muhammad Aslam, Shabeer and Amjad Haroon.

Chief Minister Balochistan strongly condemned the attack on FC soldiers and vowed that the provincial government will strictly deal terrorists attacking brave personnel.

“Our brave soldiers have sacrificed their precious lives in protecting people of Balochistan, we are proud on our soldiers battling coward enemy.” Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizinjo said.

He reiterated that we will chase the enemy wherever they are hiding and will bring them to justice.

Provincial Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti and Advisor to CM for Information Anwar ul Haq Kakar have strongly condemned the attack on FC and showed their deep regret.

“We will take revenge from the terrorists and will pursue them till their graveyards.” Sarfaraz Bugti said.

So far no group claimed responsibility of the attack till the file was reported.

Following the incident Provincial Government has increased ban on pillion riding till 24 February.

“We desperately need Quetta Safe City Project now, the project is yet under progressed and it will be more helpful in crime investigations.” IG Police Muzzam Jha Ansari said and added if today Safe City Project was functional we would have arrest the target killers.

The funeral of martyred FC soldiers was offered in Frontier Corps Headquarter Quetta in which CM Balochistan, IG FC, Commissioner Quetta and other officials participated.
