QUETTA: Levies Forces held successful operation in Lasbela on Tuesday and recovered more than 27 tons drugs smuggling to Karachi from Awaran.

QUETTA: Levies Forces held successful operation in Lasbela on Tuesday and recovered more than 27 tons drugs smuggling to Karachi from Awaran.

According to details, Assistant Commissioner Lasbela Izat Nazir Baloch, received a secret notice that smugglers attempting to smuggle a large quantity of drugs from Awaran to Karachi.

Assistant Commissioner formed a team headed by Tehsildar Bela Naseer Ahmad Jamot and Check Post In-charge Muhammad Rafiq.

Security forces blockade the check post and starting checking all vehicles.

At the same time, a truck number RIW-1089 emerged, which was taken over by the security officers, more than 27 tons of high quality drug was hidden in secret enclosures of the truck.

The Levies Force took truck into custody and arrested the truck driver and filed a case against him.

Later on, the Assistant Commissioner held press conference at Levies Forces Headquarter Lasbela and said, recovered quantity of drugs hold value of millions of rupees in the global market.

He said “drug addiction is a fatal disease for our society, effecting many houses and ruining lives of people.”

He said, “Levies Force are making efforts to prevent drug trafficking. No matter how powerful the elements involved in the drug trafficking are, Government will deal with iron hands with every one of them.”

Assistant Commissioner Izat Nazir Baloch took charge one month ago and this is his third major action/operation against drug mafia.
