QUETTA: The PMAP Chief, Mr. Mahmood Khan Achakzai vowed to take to streets in protest if any dictator takes over power in this country.

Addressing a big public meeting in Quetta on Saturday on the 44th death anniversary of late Samad Khan Achakzai, a leader of the independence movement, Mr. Achakzai said that it should be decided that the States are for the agencies or agencies for the State in this country.

He vowed not to support any adventurist military dictator in Pakistan saying that he is a committed democrat. He said he would hate those who support autocracy in Pakistan.

Mr. Achakzai sought a commitment from Mian Nawaz Sharif that he would make the Parliament sovereign, there will be rule of law and the constitution, people will enjoy their inalienable democratic rights, and he offered to mediate between the Baloch leaders and the Government restoring peace in this restive province.

He said he was ready to go to foreign countries and bring back sons of late Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri to Pakistan.

The PMAP chief deplored that one man was made target of corruption and termed it revenge and it is not accountability. He said that there is corruption in every sector and there is need that every corrupt man should be made accountable.

The war and clashes between the democratic forces and others is continuing for the past 70 years and Pakistan is at the cross road calling for sanity, Mr. Achakzai said.

He said the provinces had joined Pakistan at their free will and given it a form of Federation. “There is no master and no slave and all nations are equal and shareholders of the State of Pakistan belong to all,” he said.

He said he father was kept in jail for 22 long years for fighting the rights of the people. He declared that the Balochs and Pakhtuns would never fight each other and tried to solve all their issues amicably.

The PMAP chief called for supremacy or law and constitution saying that without it Pakistan cannot progress. There should be a clear decision that Pakistan was created for the agencies or Agencies are for Pakistan, the PMAP leader asked a pertinent question from the responsive crowd.

Pakistan should be ruled according to the will of the 210 million people, Mr. Mahmood Khan Achakzai said. He recalled the incident of Nawab Nauroz Khan who was asked to lay down weapons swearing on Holy Quran and later on all his associates and relatives were executed. Still his grandson is supporting Nawaz Sharif at this critical juncture of our political history.

He said Nawab Bugti was assassinated, Bhutto was executed and Nawab Marri was imprisoned for their political views and they never raised slogans against Pakistan.

Mr. Achakzai said Pakhtuns fought the British colonial ruler for his homeland. He asked Nawaz Sharif what he wanted from us. If you have decided that there should be Parliamentary democracy, supremacy of law and the Constitution, internal and foreign policy should be framed by the Parliament and the parliament should remain of only source of power, then “we will support you,” Mr. Achakzai told his audience. He said Pakistan’s relations are not good with India, Afghanistan and Iran and how can we survive?

He demanded accountability across the board. He claimed that the country is being pushed towards a civil war. Countries will not survive if there is no justice, he said.
