Speaking at the function arranged by the Ministry of Human Rights of Pakistan on the eve of International Human Rights Day, here on Sunday, she said that the constitution of Pakistan is guarantor of protection of the human rights of the people without any discrimination.
She said and added that our religion Islam gives lesson of equality for entire humanity without any discrimination of religion, color and creed. “We must keep balance between our rights and responsibilities,” she said, adding that the day the entire word was observing tell us to struggle and take steps for the creation of tolerant culture for establishing a tolerant society, sanctity of human rights and positive thinking in our attitude.
She said that Islam is religion of peace and our Prophet Muhammad (Peace-be-upon him) was the great champion of the human rights and the rights given Islam to the people is great guidance for entire humanity. “The maintaining of dignity of human, honoring human rights, freedom of human and equality are basic principles of Islam teach us, we are one and honour and equality is for everybody,” Ms. Durrani said.
The first ever female Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly said that present government headed by Nawab Sanaullah Zehri is determined for the protection and promotion of human rights in the province and was taking steps for the protection of the dignity of every citizen and providing maximum facilities to the people of Balochistan.
She while referring the issues of Kashmir, Palestine, Afghanistan, Bosnia and Rohingya Muslims of Burma said that the governments were committing massive human rights violations that raising questions on the conscious of international community who were not taking notice over gross human rights violations. She underlined the need for introducing the justice based system which provides equal opportunities to all communities and nations and ensures their equal rights.
Ms. Durrani informed that Caucus was established in the province for the protection of the minorities and Balochistan also did legislation for the rights of special persons. She urged upon the young generation to get aware of their children about the importance of human rights. He said that media, civil society and NGOs were playing affective role in the protection of human rights.
Director of the Ministry of Human Rights, Syed Naseer Shah, Director General Social Welfare Department, Ms. Musarat Jabeen, Coordinator of Chief Minister Aladdin Kakar, former Senior Member Board of Revenue Javed Sarwar and others also spoke and urged upon the people to play their role for the protection of the human rights.
