QUETTA: Many cities of Balochistan including the provincial capital faced winter’s first rain and snow on Monday after more than eight months.

QUETTA: Many cities of Balochistan including the provincial capital faced winter’s first rain and snow on Monday after more than eight months.

Rain and snow have ebbed the temperature in many parts of Balochistan as southern and western cities have poured with torrential and rain and snowfall.

Quetta, Mastung, Kalat, Chaghi, Dalbandin, Nokandi, Taftan, Sibi, Chaman, Zhob, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah were hit with rain while Lorlai and Ziarat have faced season’s first snow fall and mountain in the areas have shrouded with snow.

The temperature have gone below in many cities of the province including Quetta where people were forced to wear warm clothes.

The burgeoning cold caused low gas pressure in majority parts of Quetta where people are compelled to ignite woods and use gas cylinders.

Majority people have turned to the cylinder shops to fill their cylinders as they aren’t even cook in their houses.

“From past four years we have been facing low gas pressure and using woods to warm our children, I don’t know what will happen in peak winter season because from the start there is no gas in our stoves.” Anwer Sultan Chughtai said.

Muhammad Ayoub standing in que to fill his gas cylinder said, today we witness minor increase in cold facing low gas pressure in the city, “I urge the government to install new pipelines across the city that could increase gas pressure.”

Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has establishes control rooms to monitor rain damages across the province.
