ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said on Thursday that Nawaz Sharif sought exemption from court due to wife’s illness.

Talking to media outside accountability court in Islamabad, Marriyum asserted that Sharif family is appearing before the court despite false allegations leveled against them.

“Maryam Nawaz’s mother is ill but she has appeared before the court following the directions of her father as Nawaz Sharif himself respects legal institutions,” she said.

She went on to say that PML-N and Sharif Family has always respected courts despite persisting legal loopholes in the system.

Marriyum insisted to reject such perception that Sharif family is running away from the judiciary.
