“Connection between Music and Human being” is the topic of her art work. Visitors from various school of thoughts appreciated the effort of the artist. “Music connects people, it gives you inner peace. Not only human, animals also listen music and enjoy it” Artist Sana Gharshin spoke to the author.

“My art work is realistic and it is a type of modern art, that has probably not been done before in Balochistan. I have used mixed media, paperwork and “Mehndi” in my work. I have received enormous response from the visitors which is quite motivational, hopefully people will consider taking these paintings to the walls of their home”, she added.

“Art is my life and it’s my only passion, I grew up playing with the colors, started making sketches when I was a kid, that was the time when my parents encouraged me a lot. I hope I will continue studying Art and then build an Art gallery in Quetta, as there is a dearth of galleries in the city, where not only I could present my art work but also of the newcomers”, Sana said.

“Artists in our society are considered useless and their art is not respected. Art is not considered respectful profession for the females specially. Some of my relatives were also against the fact that I am studying fine arts. I would not had to face such difficulties if I had chosen a different profession. Still I am grateful that my parents supported me through out. Compare to this my other females colleges had to face many obstacles. Still we are optimistic that in coming years people will consider art as field to make their profession and will start appreciating the work of Artists”.

Females of Balochistan are commonly had to face discrimination and other challenges to survive and progress in any field of life. A province which has only 25 % of female literacy rate, can not provide equal rights to opportunities. Still courageous women of Balochistan surpassing all the obstacles to move forward and making a progressive and developed society.
