QUETTA: Large number of women staged protest demonstration in Rabi Canal area of Dear Murad Jamali on Monday against not arresting of accused involved in killing of one person and injuring 13 people over a land dispute.

QUETTA: Large number of women staged protest demonstration in Rabi Canal area of Dear Murad Jamali on Monday against not arresting of accused involved in killing of one person and injuring 13 people over a land dispute.

The protesting women carrying placards and banners inscribed with their demands marched on the main highway, staged a sit-in and suspended all kind of traffic at Quetta-Sukkur National Highway.

They chanted slogans against police and local administration for not arresting the accused allegedly involved in killing of one
Muhammad Khan Parkani and injuring 13 other people in shootout with rival group over land dispute.

Protesting women of Parkani tribe alleged that police was not arresting the accused as influenced people were protesting them with the connivance of local administration. They demanded that all accused involved in killing and injuring the people should be arrested without any delay.

Deputy Superintendent Police Dera Murad Jamali, Nasibullah Khosa held negotiations with the protesting women and informed them that three accused involved in the firing have already been arrested while operation was under way for arresting other accused. “We will arrest remaining accused of the incident soon,” Mr. Khosa assured the protesting women.

Women ended their sit-in after the assurance o the senior police officer. Later the traffic that remained suspended two hours was restored by police.
