Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has vowed to defend Pakistan at all costs, a day after another civilian was killed in Indian firing along the Line of Control (LoC).

On Sunday, Pakistan summoned acting Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh to condemn the ceasefire violations, causing the death of Pakistani civilians.

“We have taken the oath to defend our motherland whatever [is the] cost or sacrifices,” the Inter-Services Public Relations quoted the COAS as saying.

“We have been, we are and we shall keep doing it,” Gen Qamar said. “Salute to the martyrs of Pakistan.”

The death toll from India’s ceasefire violations along the LoC and the Working Boundary (WB) has risen to seven this week.

Earlier, DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor tweeted. “Hostile foreign efforts in destabilising Pakistan [are being] exposed and defeated by a resilient nation.”
