QUETTA: Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri had pledged to establish institutions for imparting quality education to our students.

Distributing laptops to students at a ceremony held at the Officers’ Club here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that Balochistan is a very rich province and by exploiting its riches “we can extend better education and healthcare facilities to the people,”

“We can build hospitals like Aga Khan Hospitals and universities for imparting quality education after exploiting our resources,” Nawab Sanaullah Zehri told the gathering of students, teachers and others.

“We are lucky that we have mineral riches, precious metals in Balochistan with a small population and huge natural wealth,” he added. He said that these riches will be exploited and used for development of Balochistan and in such a case we can pay Rs 20,000 to 25,000 per family per month.

He pledged to make a province of the highly educated people where very good and competent teachers teaching our students.

Nawab Sanaullah Zehri referred to the services of Khan Abdul Qayyum Khan who changed the face and fate of KPK by imparting quality education to the students in 1950s.

“ If we are honest and dedicated to the causes of the people, then we will find ways and means to develop our province,” the Chief Minister said. He announced his firm commitment to establish prestigious institutions for quality education from schools to University level. He said we desire to establish prestigious universities in Balochistan so that students qualified from those universities should get job in any part of Pakistan.

Nawab Zehri had advised the students to devote their energy and efforts for attaining better and quality education and should waste their time and energy in wasteful activities.

The Chief Minister was of the view that the negative politics had extended irreparable damage to education sector instigating them to take up Kalashnikovs and go to the hill and wage a senseless fight. He advised the students to stay away from negative politics and devote their energies and efforts for gaining better and useful education.

“We will not leave our students at the mercy of politicians having a negative mind and approach and we will try to recover the past losses the students suffered,” the Chief Minister told his audience in a firm voice.

He assured the students that appropriate resources would be made available for ensuring better and quality education to the students.

Provincial Ministers, senior officials and the Inspector-General of Police were also present on the occasion.

Later, the Chief Minister distributed the prizes at the final Polo Match held in Quetta. He told the gathering that Pakistan Army and the Provincial Government are working hard to promote sports in Balochistan.
