LONDON: The Sharif Family and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar have decided not to appear before the trial court in NAB references proceedings.

LONDON: The Sharif Family and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar have decided not to appear before the trial court in NAB references proceedings.

This was decided at a high level meeting of the PML leaders, chaired by Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, the ousted Prime Minister of Pakistan, at the London Office of Mr. Hussain Nawaz.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Foreign Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif, the Federal Law Minister and other PML leaders, including son of the ousted Prime Minister attended the meeting.

The main decision taken at the meeting was to ignore the proceedings of the trial court in NAB references against the Sharif Family and Mr. Ishaq Dar. They will not appear before the accountability court and ignore all its directions and orders.

Another important decision taken at the informal meeting of the PML leaders in London is that the Finance Minister, Mr. Ishaq Dar will resign from the Cabinet and stay back in London or in the Gulf countries to avoid his arrest.

Mr. Mohammad Afzal, another senior leader of the PML, is tipped as the new Finance Minister of Pakistan replacing arrogant Ishaq Dar.

Even their lawyers will not appear before the court during the proceedings thus completely boycotting the proceedings.

The PML leadership had advised the ousted Prime Minister and also the PML party boss not to return to Pakistan and stay back in London along with his family to continue politics and lead the political campaign in support of his stand.

The Sharif family had hired the services of a lobby firm to polish up his own image and prepare public opinion against the Supreme Court verdict claiming that it was a conspiracy by undemocratic forces to dislodge Mian Nawaz Sharif from political power in Pakistan on concocted charges.

The Sharif family is expected to pay millions of US dollars to the US firm for lobbying his favour and mobilizing public opinion what had happened to his Government following the Supreme Court verdict.
