QUETTA: The Balochistan Chief Minister, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, has called for joint struggle against terrorism as both Balochs and the Pakhtuns are their prime victims. He called for a joint struggle to defeat terrorism from the entire region.

Speaking at the concluding session of the three-day international Pashto Seminar organized by Pashto Academy and Pashtoon cultural day function, here on Saturday evening, he said that Baloch and Pashtoon are brothers who hold each other’s hand in every difficult time and extend help for overcoming the hard time.

Nawab Sanaullah Zehri underlined the need for joint struggle against terrorism as both Baloch and Pashtoon were facing terrorism since long and there is need to defeat the elements who imposed this situation on them.

“I want to give massage to those elements who wanted to impose their ideology through gun on the people that Baloch and Pashtoon are united and would not allow anybody to create differences among them and harm our centuries old traditions and customs,” Nawab Zehri said.

He while congratulating the Pashtoon nation for observing Pashtoon culture day, said that Pashtoon nation have very old civilization culture. He said that every nation, including Baloch and Pashtoon have the right to promote their culture and tradition as only those nations could remain alive who develop and protect their language, civilization, culture and tradition. “Those who did not bather about their language, civilization and culture cannot remain alive and become part of history,” Nawaz Zehri said.

He said that Balochistan is rich in resources and through remaining united we can protect and utilize our natural resources. Mr. Zehri spoke at length about the struggle of his forefather and said that his grandfather late Nawab Nuroze Khan fought 16 wars against occupation forces during colonial rule and provided us a protected piece of land and now it was our responsibility to protect it.

Chief Minister announced Rs. 10 million for the Pashto Academy on the occasion.

Senator Usman Kakar, Provincial President of PMAP, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, Ms. Saira Sharif member of Afghan Parliament, Dr. Alexander from Russia and President Pashto Academy, Syed Khair Muhammad Arif also spoke in the concluding session of the Conference.

Governor Balochistan, Muhammad Khan Achakzai had opened the three-day conference which was largely attended by Pashto instinctual, writers, poets, political leaders and other people across the country and Afghanistan.
