As expected, the US President, while addressing the UN General Assembly in New York the other day, had hurled threats to North Koran, Iran and Pakistan directly or indirectly of dire consequences if they were found resisting the US designs in the region or tried to undermine the US interests.

The threat was open and in unguarded words saying the US would destroy whole of North Korea if the interests of the United States and its allies threatened or in case of any misadventure.

He termed the North Korean leader as a rocket man on a suicide mission. In regard to Iran, President Trump was found determined to dismantle the Iranian military, economic and political power in the West Asia region seeking an early action against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In recent years, Iran influence and power had increased manifold in the region militarily helping Syria, Iraq and Yemen using its revolutionary forces. The US and its allies are trying to curtail the growing influence of Iran in the West Asia region adopting various tactics. This time, the US President used the forum of UN General Assembly in passing threats to these countries.

Prior o emergence of the Islamic Republic as a political, economic and military power, the United States was the sole power dictating the regional countries.

Following the Iranian revolution and particularly after the Iraqi misadventure against Iran by President Saddam Hussain, Iran managed to consolidate its military, political and economic power over a period of time and now the Islamic Republic is challenging the US in the region.

Iran, on the other hand, is defending its legitimate rights and interests in the region and become capable to help Syria, Iraq and Yemen in fighting dissents. In economic terms, Iran had developed a huge economic power in the region and it is no more a backward country of the third world. It is a developed country by all means self sufficient in production of war material and boosting its missile technology to defend its borders.

In regard to Pakistan, the US President renewed the charges he leveled while announcing his Government policy on Afghanistan and Pakistan. But he did not mention the name of Pakistan while hurling the repeated allegations of safe havens for terrorists or harbouring Taliban and others involved in subversive activities.

Pakistan had already rejected all these charges off and on reiterating that Pakistan is a victim of world terrorism and hostile countries were involved in subversion in Pakistan. In any case, the US had developed highly tense relations with Pakistan, Iran and North Korea at the moment and following a hostile policy towards these three countries.

In case of North Korea, China and Russia proved to be a deterrent in case of any misadventure by the United States.

Both countries demonstrated their solidarity with the North Korea by undertaking a military drill close to North Korean borders. Ultimately China will prevail on North Korea in calming down the hype created by the US President and the North Korea will stop missile test in due course of time.

In case of Iran, the relations are tense as US retaining a huge military power in the Gulf region. According to the Iranian media, more than 60 US warships are present in the Gulf waters supported by three Aircraft Carriers by the US, Britain and France. The Iranian vessels, mainly the fast missile boats are monitoring the movement of US warships in the Gulf waters.

The confrontation in the open sea had made the situation very tense and highly explosive which can turn into a bigger crisis in the region. Pakistan, on its part, is defending its national sovereignty and integrity amid formidable threats in the region.

It was not involved in exporting or selling any brand of idea to its neighbours. It is devoting its energy in fighting internal subversion, mainly from the so called Islamists Taliban, Al Qaeda or Daesh. Actually, Pakistan is clearing the remnants of Islamic militancy with its full force.
