QUETTA: A complete shutter down strike was observed in Quetta city and its surroundings on Tuesday against abduction of the Emir of Jamaat Ahal-e-Hadees Balochistan Maulana Ali Muhammad Turab along with his son and two others on gun point.

QUETTA: A complete shutter down strike was observed in Quetta city and its surroundings on Tuesday against abduction of the Emir of Jamaat Ahal-e-Hadees Balochistan Maulana Ali Muhammad Turab along with his son and two others on gun point.

Maulana Turab, his son, secretary and security guard from Sheikhmanda area of airport road on Friday last by unknown armed men while he was traveling in his land cursing to proceed to Karachi from Quetta. His vehicle was found abandoned in Sheikhmanda area.

The shutter down strike call was hurled by political and religious parties and traders’ organization at a Press Conference the other day demanding early recovery of kidnapped religious scholar and member of the Islamic Ideological Counsel.
All bazaars, shops, markets, shopping plazas, business centers and officials of trade organizations remained completely closed throughout the day.”

We had closed out our business as protest against the abduction of a religious scholar and political leader,” Shoakat Ali said who is running his cosmetic shop in main Jinnah toad market.  Even Medical stores remained closed till afternoon.
However, hotels and tandoors were allowed to continue their business.

The shopkeepers and traders running their businesses in the outskirts of the provincial capital also responded the strike call and fully closed their business in surrendering areas of Quetta.
Vehicular traffic was also found very thin in the provincial capital as majority vehicle remained off the road. People preferred to stay behind the doors of their homes.

The local administration made foolproof security arrangements deploying heavy contingents’ of police, levies and Frontier Corps were deployed at all important places to avoid any unto incident during the strike.

No unto incident was reported from any area of this provincial capital as security personnel continued patrolling at the main streets and roads till late evening.
