QUETTA: Closing ceremony of 30th Bolan Open Golf Tournament was held at Quetta Golf Club.
Acting Commander Southern Command Major General Nadeem, Patron Inchief Quetta Golf Club was the chief guest.
While speaking on the occasion Maj Gen Nadeem Zaki congratulated the organizers of this mega event. He further said that participation of record number of golfers from all parts of Pakistan is testimony of improved law and order situation of Balochistan. He further said that Balohistan has a potential in the field of sports since the province has produced numerous world class sportsmen.
He hoped that more national sports event will be held in Quetta which will encourage the youth of Balochistan to participate in healthy activities. Later prizes were distributed amongst champion players in subsequent categories. In Amateurs Handicap 13-18 category, Haji Farooq of Quetta Golf Club claimed 1st Gross Prize and Changaze Haider won 1st Net Prize.
In Amateurs Handicap 1-12 category, Muhammad Rehman of Rawalpindi Golf Club won 1st position Grose Prize while Muslim Abbas of Quetta Golf Club claimed 1st positon in Net Prize.
In Senior players category, Haji Mansoor Ali won the first position. In Army personnel category, Lt Col Imran Cheema won first prize while Brig Bilal Javed clinched runner up slot. In Junior Professionals category, the first prize in the category was won by Akbar Khan. The highlight of the day was the grand prize of 1000cc car which was won by Muhammad Siddique of Laylpur Golf Club, Faislabad for hitting the prestigious “HOLE IN ONE“.
