QUETTA: Three coal-miners have been died due to inhaling poisonous gas accumulated in a coal-mine in Harnai area, some 160 km east of the Provincial Capital Quetta, on Monday.

QUETTA: Three coal-miners have been died due to inhaling poisonous gas accumulated in a coal-mine in Harnai area, some 160 km east of the Provincial Capital Quetta, on Monday.
It was second fatal incident in last one week. Four coalminers had killed in a methane gas explosion taken place in a mine in Sanjdi area of Sour-Range coal field and two other injured.
Official sources said that some coal mine workers went inside a coal mine in Sanjdi area and started digging coal during that poisonous gas accumulated inside the mine. The mine workers working hundreds of feet deep inside the coal mine fell unconscious due to inhaling the gas.
However, some mine workers feeling the accumulation of poisonous gas come out of the mine. Coal miners and rescue workers rushed to the affected mine and launched rescue operation and recovered all the affected workers and shifted to the nearby health facility. However, health officer declared three mine workers dead.
“Three coal miners died of inhaling poisonous gas because they were working deep inside the mine,” the officials of Chief Inspector of Mines Directorate said. However, other workers survived as they were working not in vary deep position.
The officials said that accumulation of methane gas inside the mine caused death of three mine workers. The bodies were shifted to the hospital and later handed over the bodies to heirs after completing medico-legal formalities. All the three mine workers belonged to Pishin district.
Chief Inspector of Mines Balochistan has ordered an inquiry into the incident that claimed three lives.
