QUETTA: Dozens of rallies have hit the roads in Quetta and other cities of Balochistan marking the 70th birthday of the country.

QUETTA: Dozens of rallies have hit the roads in Quetta and other cities of Balochistan marking the 70th birthday of the country.

The prime ceremony was held in the garden of Balochistan Assembly where Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri and Speaker Balochistan Assembly Raheela Durrani hoisted National Flag.

Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Amir Riaz, IG FC Major General Nadeem Anjum, Provincial Ministers and other officials were also gathered in the ceremony.

“70 years since we declared an independent state, but unfortunately we couldn’t join the race of developed world that indicate flaws in our system,” Nawab Sanaullah Zehri said while addressing the flag hoisting ceremony.

Talking on the recent suicide attack on Security forces in Quetta CM Balochistan said, again the enemy committed vicious attack on our soldier and public to sabotage Azadi celebrations,

“Though the attack mourn the nation but our vision to eradicate terrorism have become more powerful and we will never get the sacrifice of brave soldiers.”

At least 15 people were killed on Saturday when a suicide bomber riding on motorbike rammed with Security forces convoy in Pishin Stop.

Despite immense security threats people have specially youth have hit the roads with vehicles and motorbikes carrying national flags.

Rizwan Ahmed a businessman led a “Pakistan Zindabad Rally” in which dozens of people participate to show their patriotism, “We want to show the rest of the world that our enemies can’t force to refrain from celebrations independence day.” He said and added we will celebrate our independence with more zeal.

Independence ceremonies were held in various schools where children sang national anthems and songs. Children have sung national song in the Balochista Assembly’s 14 August ceremony,

Describing her feelings on Independence Day Tyaba a school student said, “We have enjoyed a lot in today’s 14 August Celebrations and we will continue to celebrate our freedoms.”

Balochistan Mutahida Mahaz (BMM) has carried-out 1015 feet long National flag and marched on various roads of the provincial capital.

Flag hoisting ceremony was held in the Pak-Afghan bordering city Chaman in DC complex where North Sector Commander Brigadier Nadeem Sohail and Deputy Commissioner Chaman Qasir Khan Nasir have hoisted national flag and cut an independence -day cake.

Rallies and public gatherings were held in Mastung, Naushki, Sibi, Kohlu, Naseerabad and other cities of Balochistan following the 70th independence day.
