QUETTA: Despite the claims of the government’s educational emergency and increasing budget of the education sector, the situation in schools in the province did not change the fate of the government schools over the last four years.

QUETTA: Despite the claims of the government’s educational emergency and increasing budget of the education sector, the situation in schools in the province did not change the fate of the government schools over the last four years.

Most primary girls’ schools located in Quetta City are lacking basic facilities. Two of the every ten children are forced to leave school. Literacy rate went down to lowest level which has come up to 40 percent.

In government papers, 99 schools do not exist on earth. There are 18 teachers in school, teaching per child.

According to the RSM recent survey of the education sector, in Quetta City out of 583 schools in the provincial capital, 99 schools are inactive, which do not exist in the mentioned places. There is no facility for 300 out of the remaining 484 schools. Most of the affected schools are girl’s schools. By not having four walls of 70 schools, students are studying in an open field.

Water is not available in 221 in the city, 237 schools have got no electricity and 300 schools lack availability of gas, Teachers in 30 schools do not have access to black boards and chocks.44 schools out of 484 schools in the city do not have chairs for teachers to sit.

In the above mentioned schools, teachers are busy to perform their duties while sitting on the floor. According to the reports, numbers of schools without facilities are located in area of   Kaushik, Panjpai, Quetta, Pashtunabad, Zadgo and Hanna. Due to non-supply, literacy rate in Quetta city has reached up to 40 percent.

In rural areas, around three hundred children have 4 teachers, while 18 teachers have been posted on 64 children in the city. Due to lack of convenience in Girls schools, 2 out of every 10 children are leaving school.
