Murder charge  framed against Majeed Achakzai

QUETTA: Murder charge was read out against Abdul Majeed Achakzai, a PMAP MPA, for allegedly killing one Abdul Ghaffar in 1992. The accused denied the charge before the District and Sessions Judge, Mr. Rashid Mahmood, in Quetta on Friday.

QUETTA: Murder charge was read out against Abdul Majeed Achakzai, a PMAP MPA, for allegedly killing one Abdul Ghaffar in 1992. The accused denied the charge before the District and Sessions Judge, Mr. Rashid Mahmood, in Quetta on Friday.

He was produced before the court to face the murder charge for allegedly killing one Abdul Ghaffar. The murder took place within the jurisdiction of Civil Lines Police Station, Quetta.

The Court also summoned the complainant Haji Mohammad Ibrahim to appear before the court on August 18 next.

Earlier, Majeed Achakzai was also produced before the Anti-Terrorism Court for allegedly running down a Traffic Police officer for signaling him to stop his vehicle for a routine check. Earlier, the police registered a simple case of road accident in which the Traffic Police Officer was killed.

When the CCTV footage came to the light, the police investigated the case and converted the road accident case into a deliberate murder and running down the Traffic Police official on the road and the police added the terrorism charge against the MPA. The car used in killing the Traffic Police officer was not a registered one and the MPA was using a fake registration number plate and the police seize the vehicle following the investigations.

The Anti-Terrorism Court extended the judicial remand for three more days.
