QUETTA. Saeed Ahmad, President and CEO of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) visited the bank’s regional office and branches in Quetta to participate in town hall meetings, while also addressing a gathering of local businessmen at Quetta Chamber of Commerce.
While addressing employees at the town hall meeting, Saeed Ahmed, said, “NBP’s role is very important for the province of Baluchistan, especially in terms of agricultural loans, which we need to disseminate more of. We also need to focus more on the SME sector, Islamic Banking and promoting our financial products, so that the people of Baluchistan can benefit further.”
He further added that like other provinces more interest free loans should be issued in favor of the farming community’s benefit. Saeed Ahmad also mentioned that further promotion of the Prime Minister Youth Business loan scheme will empower Baluchistan’s youth to tackle challenges at an individual, community and national level.
Highlighting NBP’s services, Saeed Ahmad added that the bank is working on mobile payment solutions by way of a mobile app, which shall provide convenience and safety to customers. He also mentioned the expansion of NBP’s ATM network across Baluchistan to further facilitate customers.
While addressing concerns of the business community at the Quetta Chamber of Commerce, he stated, “My visit to Quetta has come after a very long time but will make sure that I frequently visit the city. The issues presented to me by the management of the chamber are very critical to me and I will make sure that they are addressed at the earliest.”
He also requested support from the chamber on the recovery of startup loans on which the chamber assured their full support. On the request of the chamber’s management, Saeed Ahmad announced that NBP’s booth in Taftan would soon be converted into a bank branch. On a question raised under CPEC, the President & CEO assured his full support to the local traders.
