At least 20 people were injured in an explosion on Band Road in Lahore on Monday night.

Th explosion shattered the windows of nearby buildings and damaged vehicles. Police and rescue workers have rushed to the scene.

The cause behind the blast has not been ascertained yet. However,  there are reports suggesting that it was caused by explosives planted in a truck.

Rescue officials said the people injured in the explosion had been rushed to nearby hospitals. They include women and children.

Police said the truck was completely destroyed in the blast, making them suspect that it was used to carry out the explosion.

The explosion has left a crater around seven feet deep at the site.
