QUETTA: The Chief Minister, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, has said that target killings, terrorism and other heinous crimes are serious challenges and the Police force is being built up to face those challenges.

QUETTA: The Chief Minister, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, has said that target killings, terrorism and other heinous crimes are serious challenges and the Police force is being built up to face those challenges.

He praised the role of police in maintenance of law and order saying that the Police had ensured protection of life and property of every citizen in this Province.

Addressing the Passing out Parade of the Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF), the Chief Minister assured the police personnel that the Government of Balochistan is on the side of the police force in all circumstances.

He said that the Police are facing many challenges in peculiar conditions of Balochistan including target killings, terrorism and other crimes against the people and the State. It is a pressing issue that the police force is being made a particular target by the terrorists.

However, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri said that proper training, providing the police force with better equipment, weapons and other facilities and the Government had already achieved desired results from such investment on human resources, mainly proper training of the police force.

He praised the role of police in defending the life and property of the people in general and maintaining perfect order in their jurisdiction. He said he was very happy to see that the police force is properly trained to face any eventuality.

The Chief Minister stressed upon the police force and its generals to concentrate on proper training of the force and making them excellent in their professional duties. He said he was happy to see that the police force is properly trained and ready to face any challenge.

He said he desired that the number of police commandoes should be raised to 1000 and now he said he was happy that the force had been increased up to 700 and always ready to perform their national duty. All the 700 police commandoes had not become part of the elite police force to challenge any act of terrorism and subversion, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri told the gathering.

The Chief Minister categorically announced that the law and the state of Pakistan is behind the elite police force and they would inflict crushing defeats to enemies of the people and the State.

He welcomed the police personnel for selecting the police force to serve their own community and society. They had come forward to defend the honor, property and life of the people of Balochistan without any discrimination, the Chief Minister told the gathering of officials and members of the law enforcing agencies.

He congratulated the IG Police and other officials for successful completion of training of the police force. The Chief Minister announced 80 posts, a tube-well for the training school, 20 per cent increase in allowance of the staff.

The IG Balochistan, Mr. Ahsan Mehboob and Commandant of the ATF School Col Assad Farooq also spoke on the occasion. The police recruits demonstrated their skills which the Chief Minister highly praised their performance.
