QESCO accountant jailed for 11 years on amassing wealth

QUETTA: The Accountability Court on Wednesday announced the sentence of 11 years imprisonment and fine of 57, 18722 rupees to former QESCO Divisional Accountant Akhtar Mohammad Hanif in a case of possessing illegal assets of Rs 125.3 million and whereas his partner in crime contractor Asim Khan was sentenced of three years with his all prosperities confiscated.

QUETTA: The Accountability Court on Wednesday announced the sentence of 11 years imprisonment and fine of 57, 18722 rupees to former QESCO Divisional Accountant Akhtar Mohammad Hanif in a case of possessing illegal assets of Rs 125.3 million and whereas his partner in crime contractor Asim Khan was sentenced of three years with his all prosperities confiscated.

The Judge of Quetta Accountability Court Abdul Majeed Nasir while hearing the case of possessing illegal assets sentenced the former Accountant of the Quetta Electric Supply Company imprisonment of 11 years and fine of 57, 18722.

NAB Balochistan, after completing the investigation in the year of 2014 against former Accountant Mohammad Hanif, had collected undeniable evidence in the unlawful asset case of 125 million in the year 2015.

During the investigation, it was revealed that former Accountant Mohammad Hanif who had been recruited as Junior Clerk to QESCO had the possession of two plots in Behria town Karachi, a house in Behria town Rawalpindi and a plot in Tungi Housing Scheme, one Bungalow in Jinnah Town whereas in Layah city of Punjab he owned a precious land and 4 precious vehicles.
