QUETTA: The Chief Minister, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, has said that he wants 100 per cent clean city of Quetta with complete civic services and amenities to all residents without any discrimination.

QUETTA: The Chief Minister, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, has said that he wants 100 per cent clean city of Quetta with complete civic services and amenities to all residents without any discrimination.

He was handing over machinery to the QMC for making the Capital city clean. The Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Ministers and officials were present on the occasion when he warned that he would not tolerate any incompetency in making the city clean.

The Chief Minister said that he had provided Rs one billion, a huge amount of money, for making the Provincial Capital clean and all the residents enjoying civic amenities and civil services without any discrimination. “I will not accept any pressure tactics,’ he told the local Municipal leaders and representatives in categorical term

He said that encroachments from all parts of the city, mainly in its commercial districts should be removed and all the civic problems should be resolved at once and the public servants should serve their people honestly. The officials and Municipal leaders will have to shrug off the label of incompetency and inefficiency at once, the Chief Minister said.

Nawab Zehri said that he had devoted all his attention and energy to bring an improvement in quality of life of the people and allocated a huge amount of money for keeping Quetta clean and disease-free. He said he had provided special funds to the QMC enabling the Corporation to dispose of filth and dirt from all the population centres.

He said he considered as his duty as Chief Minister to devote his attention to make Quetta clean and beautiful. With that fund, the machinery is bought and being handed over to the Corporation for improving the garbage removal and waste management in this provincial Capital

Nawab Zehri said that the Corporation and its municipal leadership will have to create full awareness among the residents to keep the city clean and properly use the civic services and amenities. He said the city of Quetta belongs to all its residents and all should avail equal opportunities and services, mainly the civic amenities.

The Chief told the gathering that he had already instructed the Provincial Local Government Department to conclude an agreement with the private sector for solid waste management though joint venture.

He categorically told the Mayor and his members that dirt, filth and waste should be disposed of on daily basis and there should be no garbage dump in any part of the city. All the areas of the city should be treated at par.
