The Prime Minister seems to be in serious trouble and he had thought it fit to leave the country for a couple of days or a week for Umra and later visit London to keep himself away from the serious strain he is suffering as a result of accountability.

Political opponents and the media is harsh against him and the Government team of propagandists had already lost the war of nerves after attacking the JIT—the team constituted by the Supreme Court of Pakistan to investigate Panama case.

Some of the team members of the Prime Minister were found hurling threats to the JIT and others in desperation.

The Prime Minister had reacted sharply or unwisely after appearing before the JIT where he reportedly refused to answer questions raised by the members.

He must be reading on the clear writing on the wall that developments are not taking place in his favour.

It was further proved that he is leaving the country for a couple of days finding hostile developments taking place in relation with the Panama case.

There is a possibility that the Prime Minister may announce ahead of schedule elections to escape the process of tough accountability which may end his political career forever.

It may be thinking of the Prime Minister and his kitchen Cabinet to call ahead of schedule elections to avoid brutal accountability this time.

However, there are slim chances elections are being held in the country amid the present and adverse security situation around Pakistan.

The Indians are constantly bombing and shelling on the Pakistani border areas and scaring the population to leave the area and causing deaths in shelling and indiscriminate firing.

At the same time, Afghanistan is fighting a war of words blaming Pakistan for every event that is taking place in Afghanistan. Iran had reportedly making military moves towards Pakistani borders and reports were published in the news columns and there was no response from the Pakistan Government.

The US Army had carried out another drone attack deep inside Pakistan killing a commander of the Haqqani Network of Afghanistan. Pakistan Government is yet to lodge a formal protest to the United State violating the sovereignty of Pakistan by carrying out a drone attack deep inside Pakistan.

President Trump is yet to announce his policies on Afghanistan raising the number of troops and taking more important decision which may have deep impact on the whole region.

The threat of war in the Gulf region looming large as the US and its allies are mounting pressure on Iran after destroying Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen. Only self centre and naïve politicians can expect fresh elections under the present security environment.

There are chances that a national unity Government is established to deal with the more serious crisis. Removal of Nawaz Sharif and his party from power can be a blessing for Pakistan as it is unable to handle the crisis in an efficient manner.

It will be a good omen if a National Government is formed at the Centre dealing with the crisis developing in the region.

The National Government should be given the task to deal with the crisis and later on there should be fresh elections to install a representative Government and the visible march toward democracy should continue.

The proposed national government should be given the task only to handle the pressing crisis and running the day-to-day affairs of the country. Naturally, the ruling PML-N will enjoy lion’s share in such a development.

In case of serious conflict with the PML-N on the pattern of 1999 military coup, it will be disastrous from the party and it may disintegrate once again because of Nawaz Sharif.

There is an option for Nawaz Sharif to continue PML-N Government in future by resigning on the demand of the people and handing over power to one of his nominees.
