QUETTA: The Chief Minister, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, has called upon the Ministers, MPAs that they should be tolerant and tolerate criticism and avoid saying offending thing that injures the feeling of others.

He was speaking on a Point of Order following the clash between the PMAP and National Party MPAs on allocation of funds for different constituencies and district, Nawab Zehri said that Freedom of Speech or Freedom of expression does not means that feelings of others be injured.

The Chief Minister expressed his deep concern over the development of the day when the NP MPAs staged walk out from the Assembly following the unjust remarks of the PMAP MPA, Liaquat Agha, on the floor of the house which was the main cause of the walk out.

“We have to keep our traditions not to insult the other and give due respect to them and their opinion also,” Nawab Sanaullah Zehri told the House in pin dropped silence.

“I was also thumping desk when the Opposition Leader ended his speech on the floor of the House with a view to give due respect to his opinion even if I disagree,” the Chief Minister said.

He said that criticism should be made for construction and not in negative sense. He said he is jotting down notes of suggestion and criticism from the MPAs and afterwards, we will respond to those suggestions.

He said he is a member of the Balochistan Assembly since 1988. Nawab Bugti was leader of the House and we were in the opposition. “We always upheld the parliamentary traditions in debate and general discussion and never offended the feeling of our political opponents,” Nawab Zehri told the House.

He advised the Members to listen the speeches of the members in a tolerant manner so that good traditions of the society are retained. He referred to his family traditions and sacrifices and still played a very humble role as the Chief Executive of Balochistan. He said he is fully aware of his officials and traditional responsibilities to serve the people in all circumstances.
