QUETTA: The masses in Quetta received no relief in terms of daily commodities as low price make-shift markets were established by the district administration but the low price edible commodities remained elusive in these markets.

According to the details, the low priced markets were established at four points in Quetta with directions of provision of edible amenities on subsidized prices. However, the rates in these markets remained higher than the open market. Despite complaints, no steps were taken to ensure control of the prices as mango sold 160 per kg, banana 100 per kg, apple 200 per kg in these markets. While watermelon, which is in high demand, sold 35 rupees per kg. Similarly, no price control mechanism seemed active as the mutton also spiked 100 rupees.
