QUETTA: The live-stock farmers staged a protest demonstration outside Commissioner office Sibi following the sudden decision of Provincial Government to postpone the holding of Sibi Mela.

The live-stock farmers, hailing from far flung areas of Balochistan, also took their cattle outside commissioner office and chanted slogans against Government’s decision of postponing the event abruptly.

Speaking on the occasion, they said that it was a proof of the failure of the provincial government which cancelled the mega historical event, adding that provincial government makes tall claims of giving relief to the growers and farmers but the practice seems to be otherwise.

They said that the farmers had been waiting for the event to sell their live-stock in the historical economic event but their expectations were frustrated. They said that the postponement of the event was equivalent to the economic massacre of the farmers.

They demanded of the government to withdraw its decision or else they would go on strike and block highways and railways from Jacababad to Quetta.
