QUETTA: Secretary Agriculture Department Government of Balochistan Mr.Abdul Rehman Buzdar has said that providing subsidy on fertilizers to the deserving farmers and growers is very crucial for boosting agricultural production.

He said this talking to a delegation of Fouji Fertilizers Company headed by Mr. Sohail Afzal Kayani head of Sales South Zone that called on him here on Tuesday. Among others, Director General Agriculture Extension Mr. Masood Ahmed Baloch, Director General Water Management Mr.Abdul Wahab Kakar and others were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Head of Sales South  Zone Mr. Sohail Kiyani said that in Balochistan the number of dealers is 130, and the period of subsidy on Agriculture commenced on 25^th  July 2016 and ended on 21^st  February, while from the period of initiation to date 57182 Metric tons of fertilizers had been sold.

While talking to the delegation Secretary Agriculture said that there is a communication gap between the fertilizers companies regarding their nominated dealers and retailers. He also observed that fertilizers companies are providing subsidized fertilizers to Quetta only, stressing the need to ensure proper supplies and stock availability to other districts also to increase the agricultural production in the entire Balochistan.
