Sharjha: Batting second, Islamabad United chased 137-run target set by Peshawar Zalmi in the second match of Saturday in the second phase of the second edition of Pakistan Super League, beating them by five wickets in a nail-biting finish on the last ball of the match.

Islamabad had restricted Zalmi to 136 for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. But it took them exactly 20 overs to chase down the target, with Amad Butt scoring the winning runs on the last ball of the inning for United.

Dwayne Smith carried bat for the United as he remained unbeaten on 72 off 59 balls, seeing his team through despite the wickets kept falling at regular interval at the other end.

There were a few good starts in the Islamabad United’s inning but no one able to bank on it to make a big total.

Eoin Morgan made 28 off 28 balls before falling prey to Shadab Khan. Wahab Riaz made a quick fire 23, which included scoring 21 runs in one over of Shane Watson, but he was soon clean bowled by Mohammad Sami.

Sami and Rumman Raees were the pick of bowlers for United. Sami took three wickets at an economy of 6.5 in four overs, while Raees took two scalps at an economy of 4.75 in his allotted quota.
