ISLAMABAD: The Balochistan Chief Minister, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri had strongly condemned the stance of agitation of Imran Khan saying that it would ultimately end in termination of development process in Balochistan and push the entire population to an island of despondency.

Addressing a crowded news conference at the Balochistan House here on Saturday afternoon, the Chief Minister said that after hard struggle, the development process had been initiated in Balochistan raising hope among the people that it will bring changes in their life giving a big boost to prosperity.

He said that Mr. Imran Khan is playing the destiny of Pakistan and its 200 million people by making move to destabilize the country as a whole which will definitely disrupt the current development process in Balochistan also.

“Imran Khan is spreading despondency and frustration among the people instead of creating hope with positive politics,” the Chief Minister remarked. He said that the agitation at the D Chowk of Islamabad had left a negative impact on politics and economy of Pakistan and the people generally disapproved it with full contempt.

Nawab Zehri termed it negative and anti-people politics making the national politics a non-serious game which should be ended in the interest of political stability and economic growth.

In presence of several Federal and Provincial Minister at the news conference, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri Balochistan touched dark ages when the legitimate and elected Government of Nawaz Sharif was dismissed and removed from power in a military coup in 1999 and since then the development process stopped.

“Aghaz-i-Huqoor-i-Balochistan was a fraud initiated by the PPP Government and there is hardly any sign of it on the development sector,” the Chief Minister plainly told the jam-packed hall with newsmen and media persons.

In return, there is massive move to development Balochistan and it presented the recent meeting in Beijing where 30 new schemes, including 12 from Balochistan, were included to accelerate the process of economic development, Nawab Zehri said.

The development process was picked up from 1999 after Nawaz Sharif came to power and assumed the responsibility of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and devoted his energies to boost the national and regional economies. The process was started after the 2013 elections and it is continuing to this date, Nawab Zehri said.

In a wield threat, the Chief Minister said that PML-N also had millions of political workers and activists and we reserve the right to give a call and bring them on the streets in support of the elected Government. He announced the country would celebrate the 70th Independence Day with greater fanfare restoring confidence of the people in the Government and their chosen representatives.

“Gwadar is CPEC in its real sense. If there is no Gwadar, there is no CPEC,” the Balochistan Chief Minister told the journalists. “We have created and announced 25000 jobs for the jobless people in Balochistan and we will assure that the recruitment will be transparent.” Nawab Zehri said.

Referring to the political process, he said that the Government is ready for talks with the militants and the Government had never closed the doors for parleys. He said that most of the militants are laying down their weapons and “we will hold talks with the second cadre leadership of the militants as top leaders had lost their grounds while remaining in Europe.”

The Provincial Home Minister, Mr. Sarfraz Bugti, who was also present at the news conference, said that the Government restore writ of the Government at all cost disallowing a smaller number of people to challenge it in future. He said there is no room for the people who refuse to accept the constitution of Pakistan. “We will hold talks with all within the framework of one and united Pakistan.”

Nawab Zehri was of the considered opinion that the drama being staged by Imran Khan and his associates will have negative impact on national and regional politics. At this stage, the Provincial Education Minister, Mr. Rahim Ziaratwal told newsmen that he and his party wanted to strengthen the democratic system for the benefit of the people.

Referring to questions from the newsmen, Nawab Zehri strongly criticized the Plea Bargain clause of the NAB and said that it is promoting corruption by collecting a part of the looted money. He said that the corrupt elements should be punished severely and his property and assets should be impounded and he should be kept in jail for life and not for few years.

He said that the military dictator created NAB only to form his own faction of PML and he misused the state powers and victimized the opponents using NAB.
