QUETTA: Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) is busy in repairing the damaged electric poles and the broken electric wires that were damaged in the wake of heavy snowfall in Quetta and other parts of the province, said spokesman of QUESCO, on Wednesday.

The heavy snowfall, perhaps in years, left many in parts of Balochistan without electricity including the provincial capital for many hours owing to damage to electric pylons and major transmission lines in the province. Commuters needed hours to reach to their destinations, snow-laden tree branches groaned and snapped as a major taste of winter hit Balochistan four days ago.

The Spokesman QESCO said that teams were busy in repairing the transmission lines and damaged transformers, adding that the transmission would soon be restored to Chaman, Nushki, Dalbandin grid stations. He said that complaints received by the individuals are also being redressed in the provincial capital.
