QUETTA: Former Senator Nawabzada Haji Lashkari has said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a big project and we should prepare the upcoming generation for it by equipping them with education.

Addressing to a ceremony at Quetta Press Club on Wednesday, he said that the ubiquitous lawlessness in the world was owing to lack of knowledge and added that the education was need of the time which can lead the nation towards prosperity.

He said that very unfortunately the state run schools were not performing up to the mark whereas it was the basic responsibility of the state to provide free education children up to matric. He said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) highlighted the importance of education 1440 years ago but we do not focus on Islamic knowledge and sciences which is causing troubles in the society. He said that two education systems were providing services to the people worldwide, which included state run educational institutions and the private educational institutions but these both are nowhere having universal standards.

He said that for a harmonious society, we have to promote a book loving society and in this regard he took initiative by donating more than 30 thousand books to BUITEM and Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University.
