QUETTA: The members of Balochistan Assembly have demanded reduction in the gas prices for domestic use calling for a positive discrimination owing to intense cold during winter which increases gas demand in Balochistan.

Expressing their views over a joint resolution on Tuesday, the members of Pashtunkhwa Mili Awami Party (PkMAP) Nasarullah Zehray, Agha Liaqat, and Majeed Achakzai said that Ogra has fixed uniform rates for the entire country but gas consumption in Sindh and Punjab is lesser owing to temperate weather while its consumption shoots in Balochistan owing to intense cold weather. Therefore, they demanded, rates for Balochistan should be reduced.

They said that unscheduled load shedding in different parts of Balochistan is another issue which causes problems for the masses. The resolution was later unanimously approved by the Assembly.
